Question by Jon G: i really screwed my custom build with raid…….help?
long story short, i installed vista

then being stupid and no reasearch, i created a raid 0, deleting every thing on my one hdd (i have 2)

then when my computer tries to boot, it says system boot failure, insert system disk

so then i put my vista disk in, when raid 1, trying something new……then i start to install vista usoing both hdd this time, but when i get to “wh4re do you want to install vista” giving you a choice of hdd’s i guess, the computer does not recognize any hdd in my computer and tell me to find the drivers for the hdd

btw, the hdd is from excelstor, guy at microcenter recommended

so i cant find the drivers for the hdd, tried excelstor website, no luck, both 250gb hdd’s.

so my choices
buy new hdd, seagate 250gb, for 45, and forget raid,
try too look for drivers and try again

it doesn’t need hard drive drivers. it is asking you for your RAID drivers, which came with your motherboard. if not, you can download them from your motherboard manufacturer’s website. after you have these loaded, you should be able to install on the RAID drives, although i’m not sure why you would want to. do you know why you want RAID? if you can answer that, then you probably wouldn’t be asking this question.

Give your answer to this question below!

With advance techniques, the fear of losing bulk of data with a RAID failure has gone. RAID was introduced to provide a secure and fault-tolerant storage system that improves the overall performance of the system in terms of data safety and storage efficiency. As, in most of the RAID systems, data is mirrored or split across various disks, chances of data loss is less. However, once it happens, the situation becomes much more complex than any ordinary system and prior to the invention of it was like more panic attached with more efficiency.

There are a no. of situations which can be the reason behind data loss from Raid Systems and demand something like mechanism to bring back your lost data. Some of the RAID failure instances are as follows:

RAID Array Failure,
RAID controller failure,
Server Not Booting,
Rebuild Failure,
Damage Strip,
Hardware Failure,
Volume or Partition not found,
Configuration Damage,
Software Corruption,
Operating System upgradation etc.

RAID or Redundant Array of Independent Disks is itself a technology that provides increased storage reliability through redundancy into a single logical unit, where all drives in the array are independent. There are many different RAID configurations available such as simple Raid configurations (Raid 0, Raid 1, raid 5) to the most complex configurations (Raid 10, Raid 50, Raid 6, Raid 6EE) in huge data storage boxes (NAS or SAN).

As we have discussed, since the data in most of the RAID configurations is split across various disks, data loss from RAID array is less likely. In the systems of RAID level 5 or above, if you one disk in the array fails, still you can be able to rebuild all the information by replacing the damaged disk. However, if more than one disk fail at the same time, then you may fall in more complex problem of data loss. Under these data loss situations, if valid backup is not available, is the only option to recover your business critical data.

In RAID systems, retrieving data while maintaining internal consistency of each file and folder not only requires tools and technologies, but also need true expertise and in-depth knowledge of how the data is managed in different RAID levels and/or configurations.

Stellar Data Recovery is a specialized name in the field of RAID recovery and offers its services in all major cities in India. Question by past_amusia: Windows XP setup crashes making use of Intel RAID driver?
My Computer had Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 installed on it, but Windows took a crap on me last night, so I made the decision to reinstall
My PC’s specs are:
Pentium D @ 3Ghz, 1GB RAM, Asus P5LD2 Deluxe Mother board feturing an Intel 82801 GR/GH (ICH7R) RAID controller.
Effectively, I produced my RAID driver floppy and then determined to redo my RAID, so I setup a RAID- configuration. I popped in my XP set up disc and pressed F6 when it prompted me to do so and then I chose my driver from the list of 4 that it pulled off the floppy and continued setup. Well, it gets to “Beginning Windows” (just before you have to agree to the EULA and pick in which windows will go) and it tosses up a BSOD and site the driver as the cause. I tried one more drive that was on the floppy and got the exact same outcome. Windows 2000 does the very same factor. I am not certain what to do precisely, and I am frankly baffled with just HOW any individual managed to get XP on the Pc. In which do I go to get a driver that Works? A hyperlink and advise would be great
Also if I do not tell setup to use a RAID driver, setup says there is no challenging disk set up and freezes.

Excellent Day….. I was Puzzled by the way you install your windows but anyway …..I just completed installing windows xp specialist on 4 units of Pentium D two.56 ghz with only 256 MB of memory, an 40 gig of challenging disk and a 128 video card…..and I haven’t encounter the dilemma you are facing now….it has also a raid controller but I just install the driver following finishing with the installation….hope this will help…..( I do not have the original raid drivers of the mother board rather I utilized drivers for MSI mother board which I located out to be extremely beneficial for me because it is made up of practically all the needed drivers for most widespread mother board now a day’s….)

In a laptop or desktop computer, hard disk is the indispensable chip. If there is any problem in hard disk then it is not possible to operate the laptop of desktop computer. Overall the whole system will be inactive like a dead man if the hard disk fails. Therefore, you should pay attention to regular maintenance of data recovery process and simultaneously the back up of hard disk. You should pay attention to regular maintenance of data recovery process and the backup of hard disk simultaneously. To be noted another important point is there. Raid data recovery used to recover the lost data from the array. Raid array is the thin line on the hard disc. This data storing chain keeps documents, files and photos intact. Also it speeds up the data storage process. It also supports rapid accessibility to data stored in the disk array. In the case of this part of hard disk goes out of order then data collection and storage process must be hampered. Your important files, digital documents and images will be lost. For this reason, it is essential to maintain regularity to check the array in hard disk. You can go to the local hardware store to hire an experienced competent engineer for conducting the whole array repairing work, if you experience such a technical snarl for which your work has been suspended.

RAID array should be repaired perfectly to speed up information loading and storing in hard disk. Generally in the market this type of data recovery and array uneraser tools is not available. You should check internet thoroughly to collect this sophisticated hard disk array recovery tools. Based on the basic needs of customers, a team of experts searched for the best alternative to protect RAID array chain in the drive. Based on the number of tests, trials and experiments, they ensure the inventions of such a highly sophisticated array-repairing accessory used for supporting data retrievable operating technology. Using this, you can easily repair and remove technical faults from RAID arrays of the hard disk. Right now you can easily get back lost information and increase the speed of data storage process.

Overall output of RAID arrays repairing is positive as it brings speed and dimension to data recovery process. You can restore the data from hard disk competently. .From dead hard disk also this array detection tool can even collect RAID arrays. It can identify any type of symbolic configuration in the hard disk. There is no need of installation of RAID controlling chip to ensure speedy RAID arrays detection and up gradation process.

How is RAID data recovery performed?

RAID or redundant array of inexpensive disks has given users a greater computer storage facility. In RAID, 2 or more disks are made into one logical unit by using either software or hardware. There are various types of RAIDs like the RAID 0, RAID 2, RAID 3, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10, etc.

Fault tolerance is something that is required in RAID. If some hardware gets lost, the data should not get destroyed. RAID 0 has no redundancy to support this while the other RAID levels have tried to incorporate this concept with RAID 5 recovery that can cover up for a single disk failure and RAID 6 can deal with two. But when multiple failures occur, RAID data recovery becomes very essential.

]]>

RAID data recovery is quite a difficult job mostly requiring technical help. The first thing to determine is the type of the array used in the system. It could be hardware, which consists of external hardware such as a controller and hard disks and in case of any error it generally calls for hard drive recovery. Software RAID is created within the computer’s operating system. Server recovery comes under software RAID rebuild and recovery.

Data Recovery Software

A software recovery can take place even online. The recovery team works on the array from a distant location. Generally, a copy of the array is made at another location from where the data is de-striped from each sector to enable your important file recovery. The final stage of data restore operation involves the extracted files being sent back and saved at the desired location of your computer.

If there is any trouble with hardware RAID, it is generally sent to a laboratory for RAID data recovery.

You should never try recovering the RAID system without having the required technical skill to do it. The server should be immediately shut down if you view any messages such as “RAID configuration error” or find it difficult to access any data.

Raid-Recovery-Online.com is the only data recovery company in the world totally dedicated to remote raid recovery online.
