Question by ertstan: How do you use Disk Utility on a Mac to burn a disk image larger than 4.7GB to a DVD?
I need to mount a file that’s 7.16GB and I am in a third world country where double layer DVDs are not available. It was difficult and expensive enough just to find DVD+R. They have a 4.7GB capacity. How can I compress the file and use Disk Utility to burn it?

well as far as i know….you will not be able to compress a file that size to below 4.7 gig…….

but if the file is an .iso .bin/ .cue .img and so on….image files….i mean… then you may be able to virtually mount the file with your disk utility……

but other than that…if you have to burn the file….you wont be able to unless you have a DL drive and disks….. or if you can split the files into two disks…if that may work for you….

hope it does…. if you want any other advice feel free to email me.
